Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
1. Who we are
This website (the "Service") is operated by the owner of this website ("unixpected"), based in the Philippines ("we", "us"). Contact: . This policy explains what information is handled when you use the Service. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.
2. Short version
- There are no accounts and no sign-up.
- Uploaded files are deleted automatically 60 minutes after upload.
- We do not open, scan, or monitor the contents of uploaded files.
- Public comments are visible to everyone and are stored until we remove them.
- A private activity log (including IP addresses) is kept for abuse prevention and deleted after 30 days by default.
- Third-party advertising (Adsterra) is shown on the site and may use cookies.
3. Information we handle
Files you upload. When you upload a file, it is stored on third-party cloud storage (Backblaze B2) under a random link. Anyone who has the link can download the file until it expires. The file and its link stop working 60 minutes after upload, and the file is deleted automatically shortly after that. The activity log (see below) records the file name and size, but not the file contents. We cannot recover deleted files.
File name and size. The file name and size are used to create the upload and download link. The file name is part of the stored file path and is deleted along with the file; a copy of the name and size also appears in the activity log until that log entry is deleted.
Comments and replies. If you post a public comment or reply, we store the comment text, the name you typed (if any; the name is optional and shown as "Anonymous" when left empty), the time it was posted, the IP address it was posted from (not shown publicly), and the number of likes and stars it has received. Comments are public. Do not put personal, private, or sensitive information in a comment. We do not ask for your email address to comment.
Likes and stars. To remember which comments you have liked or starred, your browser saves that choice in its own local storage on your device. This is not sent to us as an identifier; only the like/star count on each comment is stored on our server.
Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting and security providers (for example Cloudflare and GitHub Pages) may process your IP address, browser type, and request details to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and keep it secure. We use your IP address for rate limiting (to limit how many uploads or comments one person can make per minute).
Activity log. To investigate abuse and respond to takedown requests, we keep a private activity log. Each entry can include the time, your IP address, your approximate location (country and city, worked out from the IP address), your browser and device type, and what was done: for example the name and size of an uploaded file, a download, or the text of a comment you posted. Comments also store the IP address they were posted from. This log is visible only to the site administrator, is not used to build profiles, and is deleted automatically after 30 days by default (the administrator may change this period). The contents of uploaded files are not logged.
Reports and emails. If you contact us or send an abuse or copyright report, we receive the information you include (such as the link, your message, and your email address if you give one). We use it only to handle your report or reply to you.
4. How we use information
- To let you upload a file and receive a temporary download link.
- To display, count, and moderate public comments.
- To protect the Service from abuse, spam, and overload.
- To review and act on abuse or copyright reports.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Advertising and cookies
The Service displays advertisements from third-party ad network Adsterra. Advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies, and may collect information such as your IP address, browser and device information, and pages viewed, in order to show ads and measure how they perform. They may use this to show ads that are more relevant to you. We do not control these cookies or what these partners collect. Please read the privacy policy of the ad network for details.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, clear them at any time, or use a content blocker. Blocking ads does not stop you from using the Service.
6. Service providers who process data for us
- Cloudflare runs the service that creates upload and download links and stores comments.
- Backblaze B2 stores uploaded files until they are deleted.
- GitHub Pages hosts the website pages.
- Adsterra provides the advertising shown on the site.
These providers may process data in countries other than where you live. By using the Service you understand that your data may be transferred and processed outside your country.
7. How long we keep information
- Uploaded files: deleted automatically about 60 minutes after upload (cleanup runs every few minutes).
- Activity log: deleted automatically after 30 days by default.
- Comments: kept until we remove them. To request removal of a comment, email us with the text of the comment and approximately when it was posted.
- Reports and emails: kept only as long as needed to handle them and as the law requires.
8. Sharing and disclosure
We do not share information about you except with the service providers listed above, or where the law requires it (for example, a valid legal request from authorities). Because the Service has no accounts, we can only disclose information we actually have, which is limited to what is described in this policy (such as the activity log while it is retained).
9. Security
Files are transferred over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and links are random and hard to guess. However, anyone with a link can download the file, so share links only with people you trust. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, including under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012, you may have the right to know what information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us at . To help us find a comment or file, include the link or the comment text.
11. Children
The Service is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the Service, contact us and we will remove it.
12. Third-party links
The Service, including its ads, may link to websites run by others. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the "Last updated" date above will change. Continued use of the Service means you accept the updated policy.
